Our company values initiated us to partner with Matthew House here in the beautiful Niagara region to provide bed frames for refugees. Arriving here in Canada with often little more than a small bag, it is the first step in welcoming those in need.

Matthew House was founded by Ann Woolger in 1992 with the intention of giving refugees a family-like home while they awaited their hearings. Christian-based and partially funded by church donations and volunteers (as well as individuals and foundations), it was established on the promise to welcome all refugees regardless of their race, religion, sexual orientation or political opinion. Not only are shelter and community provided but also to navigate through the complex refugee system from filling out paperwork to prepare for their hearings.

Statistics show us that more than 60 million people are displaced from their home and from that almost 22 million refugees. The numbers are staggering and are increasing yearly. Please read Nasima’s story “The journey of a refugee claimant” here at www.matthewhouse.ca.

Thank you for reading this blog! We put a lot of effort into each and every one. If you have any questions, feel free to email me at hello@quaggadesigns.com, I would be happy to chat :)
